I just got my C&R license last week, and want to make sure I am doing everything legal. I am looking to purchase a 59/66 SKS from a non-licensee. I will send him a copy of my C&R FFL.

I know he can ship the rifle straight to me, can he ship it through the postal service? Any postal regs or anything he should have with him?

Does the postal service have any special surcharges for firearms, or is just charged like everything else?

Yes, I use USPS for all rifles. To the 'smith or to the buyer, or to the factory. Nothing to it.

Pub 52 talks about it if you want to read their regs. 42.1.d
