I have a C&R license, and am looking to get a Yugo SKS in the near future. I was looking at the "Firearms Curios or Relics List" published by the ATF (http://www.atf.gov/firearms/curios/2001index.htm), and I couldn't find any Yugo SKS's listed (although I did see Russian and Romanian SKS's listed).
I know that all semi-auto or bolt-action military rifles made before 1946 are C&R, but I was under the impression that the M59 was made in 1959, and that many 59/66 rifles were made in the 60s and 70s. Do I have my dates wrong?
Can anyone tell me why Yugo SKS's are C&R eligible?
Thanks.
