Shipping Firearms via UPS

Just as a note for future reference, the "UPS Store" chains do NOT ship firearms. Instead, you have to go to the local UPS hub. I didn't know that and I wasted a half hour of my time today going to the UPS Store. Interesting that I can ship 10 copies of the "Satanic Bible" with 50 lbs of sex toys there but I can't ship my Single Action Army

They shipped my handgun at a UPS store. Of course, at the time, they thought it was just the slide.

Had a broken harddrive, got a new one shipped to me from NY to Taiwan.

Got a phone call from customs:

Customs: "Hello, we have a package for you."
Twoblink: "OK.."
Customs: "What's in it?"
Twoblink: "Who sent it? I don't know what's in it, but should be a harddrive."
Customs: "Should, or _IS_ a harddrive?"
Twoblink: "I don't know, I haven't examined the package yet."
Customs: "So you don't know if it's a gun or not.."
Twoblink: "Of course I don't, I didn't ship it!"
Customs: "Would you mind if we opened it?"
Twoblink: "Yes. It's not for you."
Customs: "So you are admitting it's something dangerous or illegal because you don't want us to open it?"
Twoblink: "OK, fine open it."
Customs: "So you are admitting it might be a bomb because you want us to open it?"

Twoblink: "Do whatever you need to, whatever, I don't care anymore.."
Customs: "So is it a bomb or not??"
Twoblink: [Hangs up]

11 days later.. the HD gets to my house, unopened.

NEVER overestimate the level of stupidity of those who work in the shipping business...
