We dont execute prisoners of war do we...if he is a prisoner of war he is entitled to live...I tend to view him as a common petty criminal that deserves life in prison without parole.

Im not here to defend Reid or any of his ilk. I dont shed a tear when a terr is shot in an engagement with our troops. Im not gonna cry when a terr is convicted in a Court of Law and sentenced to whatever sentence the Court deems appropriate. Im just not going to be a barbarian and condonre torture and maiming. They might live in the 14th century, we dont.

I understand and appreciate you morals. In a perfect world and with sane people, we might win taking the high road. But we are not dealing with sane intelligent,moral people.

These people will and can do things that will make Hitler look like a school boy. And you won't win a war with these people, playing "Fair". Reid could just as well been carring a dirty nuke, and used it in your or any city. They will do so in a heartbeat.

His intent was to kill everyone on that plane, dose it make him less of a murderer because he failed? I think not. And there are thousands more waiting to take his place.

This is easy. When a person is willing and inclined to kill, they are a killer. He fully intended to kill every person on that plane. Whether you grasp the notion or not, THAT makes him a killer.

It is the same as if you shoot a person INTENDING to kill them and somehow they survive. YOU are still a killer. Of course you would probably see them as a "attempted killer."

Wildalaska, you are kinda going to ridiculous extremes.

The tied to the tree thing wasn't me either, btw. But the sentiment was similar.

BOT, dead is dead. Soldiers kill people in ways just as horrific, but less dramtic than tied to a tree. So quite tap dancing around it and explain the difference.

I'll make it simple. When a soldier maims you with a claymore and you lie bleeding to death in excrutiating pain torn all to hell, how is that different? Same result.
