Have they ever been available?

As one who got going again with metalica after a decades long hiatus, I have been able to find nearly everything I went looking for. Equipment, powders, primers, brass and bullets. Even some of the rare powders like Varget, H4350, etc. have been found at retail. Had a long wait for new 270 Win brass, but even that turned up eventually.

Two things I have yet to see available are Shooters World Powders and Sierra hunting bullets. Latter seems odd to me as I have found all kinds of bullets by Hornady, some Speer and even Nosler partitions. Sierra target yes. Hunting....no. With good alternatives, not missed, but not what I expected.

But as for Shooters World powders........ever? From their website, they have a limited distribution network......only 5 or 6 mail order outlets. Can only surmise for them to exist at all, they must be selling powders to commercial ammo makers in bulk. Their small containers are non-existent.

Powder Valley, Midsouth, Midway, Grafs, & Natcheez all carry Shooters World. It is hit or miss on being in stock though just like all other brands right now.

I just looked on the Sierra site and they do have a 175gr Tipped GameKing bullet in stock in .277".
https://www.sierrabullets.com/product/270-caliber-175-gr-tgk/

The standard GameKing bullets are out of stock as are the tipped 140gr bullets. I don't know what weight bullet you're looking for but one in stock is better than none.

Midway USA also has the tipped GameKing bullets in 175gr in stock too as does Midsouth Shooters and Powder Valley.

Shooter's World Powders ... Have they ever been available?
Yes.

I bought Clean Shot, Auto Pistol and Ultimate Pistol before Covid to test but due to family medical issues, they got liquidated along with over 90% of my reloading stuff. They were sold by many vendors.

BTW, from "Same and Comparable Powders" thread with following being "comparable" - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ble-powders-during-component-shortage.890865/

We have had some on the shelf at avery in.memphis. their 4350 went quick but there is a bunch of their 300bo powder on the shelf currently. I've never seen the pistol powder on the shelf. I would get some if I did.

About 4 months ago there was a drop of Shooters World propellants at Powder Valley and Mid South. Got a friend about 7 pound containers of various rifle and handgun from Mid South all in one go. It is turning out to be good stuff. It was priced well too. Got him some of my primers, those cost too much to buy still. We can wait it out for a while yet.

October of last year I bought some from Powder Valley - Ultimate Pistol, Clean Shot and Blackout. All were under $20 per pound. I've noticed them in stock a few times since then, but haven't purchased any. Usually they come and go in waves. There will be none available for a few weeks and then a bunch will come up for sale. Once that sells out there will be none for a while.

Pretty much hit and miss, like everything else. I did manage to pick up an 8 pound jug of tactical rifle a few months ago at Powder Valley. Good stuff, and cheap compared to other powders. Keep looking, it will show up eventually.

Ok, so sounds like they have not thrown in the towel. About 4 to 5 months ago, I did see some SW4350 and maybe SW TAC on Midway or PV......lasted less than 24 hours, was gone and have seen none since. I note on the SW website, they mention bulk powders, so may be peddling bulk to some of the 2nd tier bulk ammo makers.

While snooping around the Internet, I also found a reference to an older article that mentioned Hodgdon and problems they were having with actual shipping of the ADI powders from Australia. New rules, regulations, etc. And that was from 5 or 6 years ago. If these importers are having trouble actually getting bulk products on a ship to float from there to here, it would explain a lot. Same problems probably exist when origin is Australia or Europe. Perhaps whey some of the powders made in Canada or US show up more than the exotic imports?

But as for the SW powders, I'm lucky enough to be near both Midway and Graf's, which are both in their limited distribution network. Will keep an eye open. No clue if their products are better than some of the others, but good to have sources of eggs from more than one chicken house.

I only reload for 7.62x39 these days. I've been using Shooters World/Lovex powders for well over a year now. I load their SBR-SOCOM D063-01 and Blackout D063-02. Both excellent powders. I wish I had discovered them earlier. Their product is much less expensive and as good quality as Accurate 1680 and Hodgdon CFE BLK, which I also use for x39.

Just over a month ago or so I had three sources with Shooters World powder in stock... Midway USA, Powder Valley, and Grafs. At this writing they're all out of stock.

It comes and goes. You just have to keep checking and jump on it when you see in stock status.

Midsouth Shooters also lists it on their site, but I've never see it in stock there.

I like their 4350. It's slower burn rate than h4350 which is perfect for my heavy 22-250.
I bought it because it was cheap. Now it's running the same as everything else.

I've been interested in trying their AR plus or tactical rifle. If AR Plus is anything like AA2230 like they say, I'm sure going to like it! I just wish I could find some locally.

I've tried both AA2230 and Tactical Rifle and I can't tell the difference. I'll bet AR plus is right there too.

Good to hear, I'm going to have to try both. The load data between the 2 is very similar, but from the description it looks like tactical rifle has a little more gas and more flash suppressant.

Edit: after a little digging, supposedly lovex D073-04 which is what they are calling AR Plus, is what lovex's designation was for AA2230 when they were making powder for Western, so I'm guessing it's really close!
