With my 6.5x47L
Pretty challenging targets at 100 yards. but I kinda like using them for bench work. Maybe a little better than shoot n see dots.
I went to the range this afternoon with a shot up IPSC cardboard silhouette. So I decided to stick some 22lr shells in it that I picked up off the ground.
I was testing two loads, one with Berger 140hybrids and another with 135JLK that was about 50 fps faster but shot to the same point at 423 yards yesterday. I shot 4 rounds, 2 of each at 2 22lr shells.
first round was about 1/2” low. Second knocked it out.
the hole on the right had the 22lr in it. First round shot just a hair to the left. Couldn’t get any closer. Second round was dead on and left burn marks on all sides of the hole.
I thought that was good enough so I went home. Then later I thought that was fun I should do it some more so I went back to the range a few hours later and filled a bunch of the holes.
I wound up hitting 4 of them (incl 2 at top of pic below , 6 with original two) but for some reason was shooting just a wee bit low. Again I was bouncing back and forth between the 140g and 135g bullets and shot about 15 total. After shooting the shoot n see (3rnds on right, 2 on left) I dialed up .2 and hit the 4 shells. Still had a couple misses too the left though. Prob just me out of practice.
