Only time I have had an issue was after shooting A LOT of .38Spl "Cowboy Action" loads in my .357 Vaquero.
Seems that the "cowboy" loads use very soft plain lead, with substanital amounts of lube. So, the crud ring built up very quickly. A pass in each chamber with the belled-out .357 case solved it.
