I have "a few" firearms but last year I bought a PCP air rifle to eliminate squirrels at my house because I have neighbors and don't want to annoy them (either with noise or projectiles). I bought a 22 cal. Benjiman air rifle that has a 10 rd clip and I put a mueller scope on it. It is very accurate at 50+ yards so far and might be good for further distances.With real bullets almost impossible to find I have started playing more with this air rifle. It is more fun than I expected and I maintain my supplies of real ammo. I bought a steel scuba tank to supply it with air and I have only refilled it twice so far. It goes a lot longer than I thought.
I just bring it up because it is a lot closer to a real gun than I thought and you can keep your shooting skills up in times of no ammo. I really don't know how long this dry ammo spell might last and I hate giving up my shooting time.

Airguns can be as accurate or more so than conventional firearms, it just depends on what you want to spend...

The Feinwerkbau P70 I used to own came from the factory with the test target attached to the manual. It had either 3 or 5 rounds fired through it (from 10 meters I believe), and you could take a pellet and rest it in the hole without it falling through. Amazing tools...

I have read about 357 and 50 cal pcp rifles being used for hogs. If that is true they could have other potential.

I have shot out 4 .22 caliber rifles in my lifetime, and I am 37. I owned one .177 caliber for about 45 minutes.
A .22 cal pellet gun is an awesome bird, squirrel, and rabbit rifle. I would like to have one that used compressed air, but I have always had pump pellet guns.

I have switched to a crossbow for my at home shooting, but I will be buying a .22 cal pellet gun soon, and plan to spend around $500.00 for it.

I started using air guns and black powder stuff a lot more during the shortage the last time around. There are some nice realistic blow-back BB pistols, and some very accurate air rifles out there that are great for staying in practice. You can use them out in the back yard too. Black powder is a lot of fun to shoot as well. It's cheap to shoot and has plenty of smoke. Once the supply loosens up, then it's back to smokeless.

If you like to shoot, and the background is O.K. then the pellet gun is good. I use a Crosman 760.
