Guerrillas in the Mist:

"Give me some elbow room.... I need some elbow room

So I can BOOM!!! shakalaka BOOM!!!

That is the sound of the 20 gauge..."

Attero Dominatus or Primo Victoria by Sabaton. Even with he atrociously conjugated latin in attero it it still great.

Well I do appreciate my country... Bubba Shot the Jukebox ;)

and then Manowar and Hammerfell are pretty good!

Driving to the range = whatever's in my CD player.

If I was to somehow be able to listen to music and shoot, it'd have to be something on the relaxing side, classical flavor. Movie theme music would work well... maybe Red Warrior from The Last Samurai or Prep for Flight from Serenity. Anything to calm the nerves, help clear the mind, and get me into Zen mode. :)

Call me "Clockwork Orange", Beethoven does it for me. The personal tranquility, focus, and then the dramatic forthright action of shooting, Armed Bear's mathematical baroque is a strong second choice. Anything that contributes to that personal "zen" moment.

Beethoven's fifth, opus 26 today.

I listen to music while I'm working, while I'm driving and a lot in general. Shooting is something I turn it off for though and just focus.

When I am shooting I want no music, no cellphone, nothing because I just want to be clear and focused on what I am doing. The issue I have with music is that it puts you in a rhythm that is not your own and when so much depends on your breathing and minor muscle movements the impact of moving to someone else's pace can make or break your performance.

RATM are a joke in that they preach an overhaul of the distribution of wealth among other things and yet are ridiculously wealthy themselves. Other than that they have a great guitarist and are overall a really good band.

Anyway, I'm with bigalexe on this one. Shooting is something in its own. No need for music!

I didn't know that Rage Against The Machine was considered a joke of a band. Their song 'pistol grip pump' is pretty good music for getting ready for the range.

Actually the song "Pistol Grip Pump" is a cover song. The original song was written and performed by rapper Volume 10.

Here is a link to an article about Volume 10.

It is one of my favorite rap songs and I miss the old school hip hop and rap as I felt it was the best form of hip-hop and rap.

I am a Rage Against The Machine fan. They are a great band and I enjoy their message. I don't understand why everybody here seems to be so down on them as they are out to make money. They are like Michael Moore, and donated a large amount of their money to various charities and not-for profit groups who advance their political beliefs.

I forgot to mention Guns & Roses or how about Velvet Revoler :D

Concerning this discussion about RATM, I personally do not care for the band, they do have an excellent guitarist, I just don't like their vocalists style nor the political message. (Even though I like System of a Down.) Audioslave, OTOH, I really enjoy (same members of RATM but vocalist from Soundgarden)

I put my Earbuds under my ear muffs when i shoot. I listen to my Gun related podcasts.

Handgun World Show
Handgun Podcast
Gun Dudes
NRA Radio
Gun Talk podcast

i think there are about 6 more i listen to on a regular basis

My truck has no radio :(

I've actually never thought about it, but now I'll have to put earphones under my muffs and see what moves me.
