Moderator note:

These pictures are of privately owned weapons being used by a variety of people. This is not a Sheriff's Department showing off its toys.

Please actually read the thread content.

Wow, that's some serious toys! I have to ask, that is a CETME with a drum, and what's the blue cased ammo? Those are personally owned toys - I can barely see the Serbu as a Dept toy, but the bloop tube and 1917 might not really qualify! Oh, yeah, I WANNA KRINK! :)

Look at the grain on that 79. Beautiful. And tell us a little more about that drum in the HK. Blue rounds, looks like a training round of some sort - I dunno. Or maybe just the high end photography - these are great quality photos. I wish I could take'm that good. I'm sure the OP will be more than happy to tell us all about these goodies.

Oleg Volk (one of the minds behind this boards creation) does a lot of photography professionally and has many pictures involving law enforcement with cool tools. He also has many other pictures of civilians with the same tools.

Just because he may do a photo-shoot of LEOs on the range with automatic weapons doesn't mean he is any less a supporter of individual freedom. I'm sure the same goes for M60 who posted some quite interesting pictures.

You're totally correct. The department pictured probably has no use for a Krinkov or M79. However, at no point did anyone say the department actually owns these. The first picture is of the door and seal on the squad car, but that's an interesting photo to someone with a photogenic eye.

I suppose i'm your employee as well. I guess I don't need to post pictures of what i've done for the past year in Iraq.

These are some great photos and we just need to enjoy the high quality pictures - I think that's all the OP intended. Even if though (most of) these guys are Deputy's they don't get to shoot this stuff every day - look at the big grins. Police like to have fun too! :)

Great pictures, looks you had an awesome time. Next time though bring your fun to my range so I can get my paws on that 1917.

The way this thread was presented, it appears that those are department owned guns until the OP clarifies otherwise (which I wish he would).

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the M79 is not department issued :)

Especially a beautiful example like this with perfect wood, very nice by the way.

You too can own one, depending on your state laws.

Being an LE doesn't buy you any special privileges for ownership of NFA stuff.

Relax a little.

Oh I don't know about that, but thanks.

I know there is always a temptation to get mad because "cops get to have machineguns" but that's not their choice that things are this way.

Most cops I know would be just as happy for the rest of us to have them as well. I've never met a cop that fears a law abiding citizen. Not one.

Getting torqued up because you see an LEO shooting an NFA firearm is somewhat understandable but it's important to keep in mind whose fault it is, and it's not LE that got us where we are today.

R; I edited my initial rant. I had wrongly assumed you were the OP for this thread. I stand by the comment you reference, though--

Ahh OK. Cleaned it all up now. Don't want to make it confusing....

Since I'm posting from my iPod right now, I'll be quick and say that none of these guns are dept. owned. They are all privately owned firearms. I just put the pic of the squad car up because i like the shot and they were there. Also, I'm not a police officer, and I dont work for the .gov anymore either. Heck, I can't even shoot my semi-auto stuff as much as I'd like to.
