Shooting with two pistols

Impractical? Probably......

Fun?......:D

I've only done it a couple times with a Glock 19 and an M&P9. I am quite accurate with whichever is in my stronghand because I do practice single-handed shooting often, but to get hits with the weakhand gun takes a little extra time and focus.....but who doesn't like letting lose a couple rounds every now and then?

I recently bought one of those cheap Taurus 82 .38 Specials. Couple of my friends got one also, so we could get the group rate.

One of my buddies got 2. Why? Ostensibly so he could keep one in his hiking/emergency pack. But in reality, so he can load up both and look like a wanker at the range. I keep threatening to take pictures of him doing it. Lol.

It has long been my understanding that at least a couple of old west desperados pulled and fired with both hands. Going from memory, one was John Wesley Harding (a Texan). I seem to remember that Billy the Kid did, as well.

It's something I've been planning to try. It would seem to make sense if assaulted by multiple assailants in a pincer. About a year ago, we were in a late night fast food drive-thru. The occupants of the car behind us caused me to be on guard. I realized that two assailants could approach us from both windows simultaneously. That's when I began to think about the possibility. Also, at point blank range, firing alternatively would seem to make sense as you could fire a second shot faster than a recovery could be made with the first one.

No doubt it would take some practice. But hey. So does playing the accordion.

Oh, you can certainly get more lead downrange in less time!

I was taught to shoot with two snub nosed Smith and Wessons some twenty five years ago.My coach,an army vet of 27 years could very consistently bounce beer cans with each round out to about 25 yards. It was truly a joy to watch him shoot, and I learned lots over the years from him.The first time we met he was out shooting me at 100 yards, using a Smith, while I was shooting a newly purchased Mauser 98.Sadly,Frank lost his fight with cancer about ten years back, but his shooting skill is still spoken of by us who knew him.

I've shot at 2 targets simultaneously. 2 silhouettes, 5-6 feet apart. Stand about 10-15 feet away. Look straight ahead (between targets) and get a peripheral view of both guns on both targets (metal on meat aiming technique). You can hit center of mass without much trouble.

Fun? Yep.

Any practical use? Nope.

That's exactly how I have done it at the range with a pair of 9mm pistols. Thumb to thumb, pulling the triggers as simultaneously as possible acting as one gun. Very fun to do.

Not practical for me in real life, but very fun to do. Just be safe!

You mean this one?

Just me, but I ain't standing in front of him! :D

But a lot of the desperados were also really good at point shooting from the hip in general. For me, being able to point shoot a single gun from the hip is the impressive part!

Two guns? Boring. Now three guns... that would be cool!

I really need to finish writing my sci-fi, because a character in it has the anatomy to do this.
