I went shopping for a Sig P365XL in the Twin Cities Metro Area. 5 Gun shops had zero P365XLs, the other 5 only had the old version XL with the rear sight mounted on a plate.

However, I was able to order a P365XL Tac Pac with 3 magazines and a holster with the new slide mounted rear sight from one of the dealers for $629.99 It will be shipped free from one of their other stores around the country to my local gun shop where I will pick it up.

But in today's political climate there is NO WAY that I will use a credit or debit card to order a firearm. What I ended up doing was to buy a store gift card for the amount of the pistol and used that gift card to order the pistol online.

I suppose that I could have waited for one of the other shops to get one of the new style XLs in stock, but I strongly suspect that SIg prices will be going up sooner than later. One store was advertising $599.99 on their website, but the in store prices was $629.99 for an old style XL.

Would any of you use a credit or debit card to buy a pistol?

Not a debit card, not a good idea over the internet. But credit card, yes. Yes, major card issuers have started using new merchant codes for guns/ammo but the reality is buying a gift card from a firearms dealer/sporting goods store shows up under that same code. It's the MCC, not an item SKU that shows up. So, whether it was a gift card or a firearm, it's the same MCC.
