I'm stepping up from the world of pistol loading to loading for the AR. I have the Lee turret press kit (disks, powder measure, etc.), scale, manuals (bound & printed via manufacturer websites).

I've got my birthday discount from Midway that needs to be used by midnight and want to make sure I've got the additions I need:

Lee pacesetter dies - .223 Remington
Lee powder charging die
Lee double disk kit
Case length gauge & shellholder for .223 (I have the trimmer)

I'll get powder locally and bullets elsewhere as Midway is backordered...then again, everyone else is, too. If need be, I'll make do with picking up a couple hundred locally.

Do you have a actual trimmer as a whole (Lee zip trim, hand cranked trimmer), or do you have the LEE trimming tool (the long metal with the 4 cutting heads). If you have just the tool, I recommend getting the shell holder chuck to attach to a drill.

I am assuming you have a trimming machine, so then that wouldn't be necessary. How about Case Lube? Since you will be only full length resizing you will need case lube, I assume you have this already as well. If not, buy the 2oz of imperial sizing wax, it will last you a LONG time. Don't waste your time with One Shot or other aerosol lubes, do it right the first time.

Happy Reloading... :D

I always recommend using a case gauge especially when you're first starting out. It will give you an instant reading on whether or not your cases are being properly sized. I still use mine everytime I load a batch of .223.
