I'll be honest. I've never been interested in Kahr pistols.
I knew they existed. I knew a couple of folks who owned them.
They just never drew my attention. I considered them to be just another "off brand" of small CCW pistols.
Today, at H and H Gun Range in Oklahoma City, my wife and I rented a
Kahr K40.
Now, we're shopping for one.
It was sleek and slim in our hands. The recoil wasn't bad at all, even in the "snappy" .40S&W. The trigger was one of the nicer DAO pulls I've ever used.
I liked it, a lot.
I typically carry a Kimber Ultra Carry II. When I can't carry it (I work at a college where it's prohibited) my wife has it.
But she's looking for something bigger than a .380 that she could shoot well and feel comfortable with that would fit her carry method a little better than the Kimber does.
She handled the Kahr just fine.
She could operate the slide perfectly.
We were both able to consistently hit the silhouette target at 7 yards with ease. We were both able to also make 7-yard head shots on the target with no problems.
I ran the target down to 25 yards and held at the juncture of the silhouette's neck and shoulders. I got a five shot group just below that juncture, with one flier out in the right shoulder.
We shot slow fire, fast aimed fire, double-taps, and even a couple of rounds of point shooting. No problems at all. Just smooth, easy functioning.
Like I said, I was never interested in Kahrs until today.
I'm impressed.
Anybody selling one at a good price?
