As the title says, I shot my first reloads today. They grouped well and I didn't blow up, so all in all, it went well. It shot one inch groups at 50 and 100 yards (with iron sights) which was more accurate than factory so I am pleased.
Feels good, huh? . Congratulations. Now you have a problem. You will soon find out (if you still haven't) that reloading is per se a hobby contained within the hobby of shooting. It's addictive, and there's no cure for the addiction.
The more you shoot the more you reload and the more you reload the more you shoot. Hmm, I guess I am going to have to give this dilemma some thought, you know what always helps me think? Shooting! Oh, wait.
I agree with west. Pay close attention to the details. Don't get lazy on the fundamentals. I have been at this for three years now and I keep learning more and more. And yes I got into this to save money. Now I shoot ten times more often so much for that.
Although I currently reload for over 10 calibers I still get that nervous first time feeling every time I shoot reloads for a new caliber. Glad to hear yours shot well and you still have all digits to be able to type about it.
Congrats! keep it up. I've only reloaded for 3-4 years and it feels like yesterday I was trying my first load. I remember caliber, bullet weight, powder, charge, and OAL.
and yes, I did hold the gun at arm's length and cringe when I pulled the trigger. LOL
