You didn't mention if you had the bayonet attached. If so, you probably knocked the brass over with it :D

Beware of the bug. I have a good friend who was born and raised in Tula, and he talked me into shooting one of his Mosin's. Six weeks later I owned four. The first 91/30 was so nice I just had to have another. Then I had an M44 follow me home. Then I saw a really clean M38. I think it crawled in the trunk when I wasn't looking. All four are in really nice condition with matching numbers and I have less than $500 in them total. What's not to love?

Glad you enjoyed your day and I look forward to hearing about the one (or six) that you go out and buy......

Here's what shooting a friends Mosin did to me...

From top to bottom:
1917 Remington M91
1923 Izhevsk M91/30 Ex-Dragoon
1932 Tula M91/30
1946 Izhevsk M44 with Yugoslavian 1.TRZ refurb stock.

The cool thing about Mosins is that there are sooo many variations to them, they are very collectable. It's fun hunting them all down. Kinda like Pokemon. For example, my 1.TRZ, and my Remington, are fairly hard to come across. I don't know if rare is a term I'd use, but they ain't easy to find. I know a guy who for years and years has only seen a handful of these particular variations. It's just to bad my Rem isn't all matching.
