as i've gotten older my eyes aren't what they used to be, and i don't shoot a handgun as well as i would like. i took one of my rough riders i bought last week to my back yard and thought i will see what it can do. i have heard some guns have to have sights bent, and some are excellent right out of the box. well mine was great, by taking just about the top 1/3 of the sight or as i call it a fine bead which is what i try to take on all guns starting out. i was able to get a great group. i only shot 12 rds as it has turned off cold here but i love this gun. i think i will paint the front sight as the black faded some trying to shoot. here is the target and do ya'll paint your sights?, and if so what do you use? my wife has some hard as nails polish in white i thought of trying. oh i was shooting at around 10yds using a two hand grip standing.

Saw your opening line and was ready to finish it with .."and it was fun!" before I even clicked on it. They're fun guns. At least, the one I have that I've shot is (I haven't shot my second one.)

But, no, I haven't painted any sights yet. It's coming, I expect, though.

Good shooting, my eyes are not the same either at 68. Just do your best and have fun.

I dabbed a little silver paint onto my front sight and that helped some. Flourescent orange or green would show up even better. But I figured bright orange sights would look kind of out of place on an old fashioned style gun,and i chose silver. gold might be even better

I used a spray can of white rustoleum that I had, I sprayed some on a piece of cardboard and used a toothpick to do the front sight. It has held up for well over a year of daily carry. Oh, Its a Colt pocketlite and a S&W Bodyguard.

They are a lot of fun. Lots of Bang for the Buck... Looks like you're not having much trouble with the sights just like they are... I personally don't care for white sights on a white target, even with a black bull. I think hunter/chevy orange works the best for me.
