I haven't seen a general SHOT Show thread. Usually GunBlast does coverage, but not this year. Mostly the show seems to have new, barely distinguishable variants of the 1911, Glock, and AR, and then some cowboy guns, but occasionally there is something cool just released.

Any news?

this shot show was disappointing to me, not much anything new. i was expecting some more from ruger and the pc carbine and more chambering in the hawkeye long range target. i wanted more chamberings in the mauser m18 like 280rem 7mm08 or even 280AI. looking for cz to bring out the real replacment for the 550 i like the 557 but it's not a crf. there are many things guys were expecting but just did not happen.

I was VERY surprised that we didn't see additional chamberings in the PCC. The .45 ACP should be pretty easy. 10mm, which everyone is clamoring for, might not be.

ya i was hoping for a wood one or maybe extra barrels. yes 45 seems doable for ruger, the 10mm i don't think so on the set up they are using now. for the 10mm they my have to ad a buffer to work.

just seen some of the new mauser style rifle zastava is coming back out with, they go the mini mauser to. the 98 are going to have some great cartridges like 7 mauser 7x64 6.5x57.

The bigger, smarter companies don’t release new products during the show when they have to compete for clicks and eyeballs.

They have usually been my source for a general overview of show products, as you said, a no go for this year. Their website seems to have taken a step backwards over the last year or two compared to earlier content. It now seems to be a "positive review for hire" type of blog only.
