Went to the range, ostensibly to see if the Korean M2 actually went bang without splitting its cases, and also to compare it with some Lake City I happen to have. Mostly, though, as it turns out, without thinking about it I went just to bruise my shoulder by shooting a big rifle built when it would seem strange to build a rifle out of anything but wood and steel.
My best 1-clip group, shot at 100 yards prone with a sling, would fit neatly on a saucer. I'm sure the rifle can do better, and maybe once I could too, but today it was perfect. Later, while cleaning, I even managed to smash my finger in the action. As I put the rifle back in the safe, I silently promised all the soldiers who carried her since 1942 that I will take good care of their rifle.
Man, do I feel great.
