i shot 4 rounds of trap last night with three guns, first up was my BT-100, i shoot it well and shot two rounds 48-50. second up was my win model 12ga field grade dressed up like a trap gun, i changed out the cracked trap stock with a field butt stock, with the field butt stock it shoots pretty flat, but i managed a 23-25. third up was a charles daly model 500 double barrel that i just bought and was the first time i ever shot it, the butt stock was shortened and a recoil pad added, i still added a slip on recoil pad as i like a longer lenth of pull and shot a 23-25 with ,not bad for a standard field shotgun. all shells were walmart federal 12ga 3dr-1-1/8- #7.5 shot. ending up with a 94-100. i did a little happy dance when no one was looking. eastbank.

Like kbbailey, my first trap gun also was a used Model 12 Trap gun with no fancy frills, just the stock and high rib, wish I still had that gun. Any way nice shooting btw.

this win md 12 fake trap was offered to me at a very good price as it is not ever going to be a collector, as i like my trap guns to shoot high so i can see the clay birds. the trap butt stock that was on it has a small split at the wrist,i,m not sure it can be fixed. so i would like to get another butt stock with a high comb as it shoots flat with the field stock. eastbank

That can be fixed - if the person knows what they are doing. I had a browning Ultra XS fall from thew safe and hit a piece of steel base on some gym equipment - cracked completely through the wrist. My gunsmith used pins and a super wood epoxy to mend it. Slightly visible, but stronger than ever
