Shotgun Under Bed Mount?

My wife wants to get a home defense shotgun and I have been searching for a way to mount it and keep it safe until needed. Leaving it leaning against the wall is the last thing I want to do but I want to leave it accesible.

Is there any bed mount system you have seen? I want a system with a trigger guard even though it will probably not have a round chambered. Some sort of pull to the side system. Ideas and suggestions accepted. Thanks.

I've actually thought about this one myself.

Remember reading over at TFL about a guy who had fabricated for himself a gun locker that was welded to a large (4x6 or 6x8) sheet of aluminum. The aluminum sat on his bed slats and the locker protruded down below the siderails of the bed. To steal his guns, a thief would have to get through the metal or carry out a giant sheet of aluminum.

I get tired of locking up the shotgun when I leave home and would like some sort of security system under my bed as well. I've thought about some sort of metal locker that I bolt to plywood, but haven't found anything satisfactory.

A friend put two very simple brackets on the side of the bedframe on the outside. Then he draped that frilly bed ruffle thing over the gun and the thing disappeared. Very simple, yet effective.

I just ordered a bracket from Mossberg that was discussed on another thread. Not for underbed mounting but you COULD mount it close by on a wall and hang a coat or something over it. Mine is going in the closet. Just an idea.

There is a 4 inch space between my headboard and the wall next to the bed. My Winchester 1300 sits there. It's within easy reach. You can't see it's there unless you get on the bed, put your head against the wall and look toward the head of the bed.

Have you thought of mounting guns on magnets glued to the underside of furniture such as tables, nightstands, etc. You could stick the gun to the magnets at whatever angle that gives you the best grip and access when you reach for the gun. What do you think?

Hanging on hooks behind the headboard works well.

I have mine under the bed sitting in half of a foam filled gun case. I cover it with a old towel to keep the dust off it. Just slide it out load and your ready to rock.

The headboard idea is good, too bad we don't have a headboard.

I used to have some super magnets when I was in high school, a small 1/4 inch square magnet could hold up 15 lbs without a problem. I think I will get some of those and use it to mount the shotgun to the frame. Since a round will not be chambered, an uncovered trigger should not be a problem. Digging out the frilly thing, that is packed somewhere, to cover it... now there is a problem.

That closet lock thing looks nice, but would be a bit slow.
