Hello everyone,
Does anyone own or have experience with this shotgun "safe?"
http://www.authoritysafes.com/gun-safes/rifle-safes/shotgun-case-model-3842-sa.html
On paper it seems ideal for me. Small, obscure, mechanical lock, easy/fast to open, relatively inexpensive etc.
My first question is about fit:
The interior dimensions are 40-1/2"x7"x3" Now, I suppose that will fit my Remington 870, stock and all, but it will be only just. Has anyone had problems with fitting?
My second question is about the combination:
Is it fast? Reliable? Easy to change? I can use multi-press patterns, right? IE the combo could be 1,2,3 & 4+5 together?
And finally - mounting.
I would like to mount this just inside the side wall of the closet next to my bed. I hear rumors that the holes are not drilled to standard studs, can anyone comment on this? I don't think "anchoring" is a good idea with a 30-lb case with a shotgun inside it!!
Thanks guys!
