Should hunting partners share the blame for an accidential death?

If the shooter's hunting license is restricted to having this "mentor" along (some states like Michigan issue an "apprentice license" to novice hunters, it's done when you get a license without first taking the otherwise required safety course) AND the law requires that the mentor stays close by the novice...there could be some partial responsibility I suppose.

Cloudy, but here is the wording:
Apprentice hunters 17 and older, when afield, must be accompanied by someone 21 or older, who possesses a valid, regular hunting license to hunt the same game as the apprentice hunter. "Accompanied by" requires the adult to be able to come to the immediate aid of the apprentice and stay within a distance from the apprentice that permits uninterrupted, unaided visual and verbal contact.
