Should I replace my scope rings?

I had a scope mounted yesterday. This is the first rifle I've bought in over a decade, a T/C Icon .243 and a Leupold VXII 3x9x40 with Leupold PRW medium height rings. These are steel, permanent Weaver-type rings.

They didn't have low PRW rings in stock. I want to remount with low rings (Leupold PRW again).

Should I? Will a 1/8" lower scope mount be worth another $45 for new rings? And should the rings be loctited down?

There's other reasons for this, though:

1) They didn't use loctite anywhere. They assured me that it wasn't needed
2) I already detailed their canting philosophy in a previous thread. They set up the recticle to account for my off-hand shooting natural cant. So the scope is canted in relation to the bore

Thoughts? I want the scope at least re-mounted properly as far as no cant and loctite.

If you are particulary enough to ask the question then........get the right rings. If you really care get what you already think you need. I never skimp on mounts and availability has nothing to do with it. If what you need isn't in stock somewhere get it somewhere else. Burris Signature Zee rings would be the cats *&^ on that rifle. They use concentric nylon inserts so you don't need to lap the rings and it won't torque the tube. It gives 100% contact, won't ever leave a mark on the tube, and you can use offset inserts to do rough adjustments and leave the scope more optically centered. And you can find em for $45 or less.
