Should I trade NIB Kimber for HK USP?

If the 1911 feels better, keep it. Save your money and buy the USP as well. There is no reason you cant have both. I regret selling my first handgun that I really liked to fund a gun that on paper was a better buy but turned out not fit my hand as well. Shoot both, try to save cash for both. You will be much much happier for it.

Just my $.02...

I recently traded my HK P2000sk for this beauty. The P2000sk holds 10+1 and this hold 8+1. It was difficult for me to get used to the mag release on the HK.
Keep the Kimber.

If you are near a shooting range, I encourage you to rent an HK USP and get some time on it.

I own one and it is a vile creature, hard to control in a 40 and surely worse in a 45. It rarely hits where it is aimed.

The Kimbers are extremely nice and fully controllable in live fire. If it doesn't suit you however, you could trade it for my personal choice which is a Glock 23. I recently acquired one and it is rapidly becoming my favorite as a carry weapon.

But I wouldn't give up my Kimber either, since it is so easy to carry.
A vile creature?? It sounds like you've got an emotional issue with it. I have an emotional issue with my USPs but its the exact opposite of yours.

Own a Dan Wesson Bobtail (1911) and a H&K USP-c (also .45). Shoot both regularly and find each as accurate as the other, at least in my hands. And while I "like" the 1911 more than the H&K, the H&K probably gets the heavier use.
I think I've taken the H&K to the range a little more often than 1911 because it cleans up a lot quicker.
I've carried the H&K more often than the 1911, because it's a little lighter and I like the carry condition its DA/SA w/decocker configuration makes possible.
Other than that, the ergonomics (position of slide release & safety) of the H&K are actually very similar to those of the 1911.
And these are both Very Good Weapons.
If you're comfortable with the feel of weapon you choose now, you've made a good choice. If you're comfortable buying a second weapon later and choose the other one then; that'll be a good choice, too.

I agree with XNavyflyer. Everyone has their own opinion but I must say he is the only person I've ever heard call the HK USP "a vile creature." At a major gun distributor in my area I have held and salivated over the HK USP and had three men on seperate occasions tell me what a great weapon it is. But the 1911 thoughts are very helpful as well. I think I will get both and see which I like better.
