I'm wanting to install some G10 grips on my pistol. It's a Custom II, just your basic blued pistol. I would like to see some pictures of different colored grips to get an idea of what I would like for my own taste. I have looked in some magazines and they don't bother showing them with a gun, so it's kinda hard to see what they would look like. Thanks

Andy

I don't have a lot of blued guns but here's a few shots of some grips...

Slimline Alumagrips mounted on a basic Citadel Officer's size.

All those other grips are pretty, but the Alumagrips are tough and don't snag ... I actually carry this gun and it is as comfortable as a single-stack poly-frame pistol except for a bit of extra weight.

G10 grips are very durable and great for carry. All the Davidson grips I showed I would carry without hesitation. Very good grip texture, no probems with snagging, and they don't get as hot or cold feeling against your skin like aluminum grips sometimes do.

Here's a pair of factory G10 grips on my Shadow, after over 2K rounds and over a year of carry.

I think these were from Larry Davidson's Monkey Grips.

Of the many fine grip makers out there, such as Sarge at the finer grain, Wicked grips, Esmeralda, etc, the choices are many. But i have been looking at Mr Olympus(brownscustom) and i gotta say his are also world class....such beauty from a piece of wood.I salute you all for you skills...best regards, Mike.

I appreciate the compliment Mike! We try to make grips as unique as possible and still try to keep prices affordable.

Zero where did you get those, I've been looking for a set like that for my ultra carry, so that size should fit mine also!

_JD_,

I see you have the least aggressive VZ's (320's) on the pistol with the least aggressive front strap (Ed Brown Special Forces?).

Is it still grippy enough, considering your other pistols have checkering and more aggressive grips?

It's actually a Nighthawk Talon Recon w/ bobtail. I find it's grippy enough, I'll be taking it to TDI for their Pistol III class this spring and will have a better feel for it in warmer months @ speed but so far in IDPA it's proven well. I took my Baer with ETCs to a two day class last fall and between the checkering, even at 30LPI and the ETCs being less aggressive than the Operators that my hands were starting to get a little raw by the 2nd day.

Thanks for the input. And, oops, the correction on your pistol.

I've heard checkered G10 is very sharp and was thinking even with the relatively smooth surface of the 320 they would most likely have enough grip.
