All the Lew Hortons were sold out back in the day, so I had one made.

This is a 8 3/8" 629-2 Larry Kelly made for me. He found a 3" original Lew Horton barrel for it and then performed the Predator package on it, plus a couple extras I wanted to make it my own.

Ball bearing detentes on the crane, Trijicon sights, porting, smooth the target trigger, bob the hammer, action job, recess the trigger guard, round the grip and glass blasted finish.

Jeff, only one phrase comes to mind when describing your python.

"Best thing of it's kind." It almost brought a tear to my eye. It's without a doubt the nicest revolver I have ever seen.

Damn that's sweet.

My Reeder custom:

and my "flame" gun, not a revolver but the flame revolver looked so cool.

My two custom revolvers are a GP-100 worked over by Marc Morganti at Gemini Customs

and a 4" Stainless Redhawk in .41mag that I converted from a 5.5" barrel. I also polished all trigger parts, dehorned the gun, removed the billboard from the barrel and installed a new front sight.

Both guns are fitted with Butler Creek/Uncle Mikes grips that are no longer made. I was looking for a set for the Redhawk and a guy on another forum found NIB grips for both guns. I was able to get them both.

hnk45acp,

I like your Gary Reeder. Looks to be a really cool piece. What are the specs?

This is my only "Custom" handgun. It started out life as a plain jane 4", square butt, M-65. It is one of three that I built many years ago when I attended the S&W Armorers course. Each student was allowed to purchase one of the guns they built, so for the sum of $89.00, I brought home the best of the three that I worked on.

I recently had the barrel cut down to 3". The muzzle was recrowned and a new serrated combat ramp front sight was dovetailed into the barrel rib. The grip was then converted from a square butt to a round butt:

I just added a set of round butt target grips and finished off the package with a DeSantis holster and a 2x2x2 ammo pouch:

Thanks. It's started as a Ruger Vaquero in 44 mag. I had Gary put an octagon barrel on it, new front sight, bisley hammer and free float cylinder. He refinished it in his "vapor-honed" finish. It's insanely accurate and a pleasure to shoot and a pleasure to look at as well.

tira where did you get that barrel from? S&W?

Here is what I refer to as my 'Elmer Fudd #5', perfect for chasing the 'wascally wabbit'. It was a brand new 4.6" Super BH to which I fitted a QPR BHG, a free spin pawl, and did some general Ruger-deburring. It was meant to go with my other similar BHG Rugers as a .44 Russian/Special launcher, something they never made. The desire to blast some hot Magnums was satiated by a few 180gr SJHP UMCs... ouch! The recoil into your hand isn't bad, nor is the slight muzzle roll - with Specials and my normal wimpy Magnums. Those UMCs rolled the ball-like grip skyward - until the SBH hammer ceased rotation by hitting my hand. Still, it is super, if a bit heavy, for those Ruskies and Specials.

Would I do this again? You bet... but then, I am a slow learner at times.

Yeah, that .458 Lott wouldn't fit. Pity.
