Show us a picture of your reloading bench

I'm gonna throw it out there but I def think it's a coyote. You can't possibly think that it's a fox can you Squirrelnuts? Maybe a wolf but def not a fox man. I still think it's a yote.

Here's my old bench. I'm in the middle of a run of .38 special plinking rounds

158 LSWC with some trail boss behind it.

Nice little setup hydraulicman. Very neat and looks to be quite effecient with that Dillon.

I'm actually posting to ask you about your choice of powder for those .38 plinking rounds. I'm assuming you're using TrailBoss for those as that is what you have sitting out. How do you like Trailboss in your .38's? Do you feel it is much more costly than say W231 or similar powder? I like the idea of the density of the powder, or lack thereof, as it would not be so position sensitive on target loads. Just haven't gotten around to trying it. Would like to know your opinion on it.

Thats a prime cold weather Coyote pelt right there... Back in the day (70's) thats exactly what you wanted to present to the fur buyer top dollar!
ST~

Yep, it is a yote. One of the best I've ever taken. Wife will not let me keep it on the bed :)

Finally - All Set Up - Thx Rembrandt

It took me a while but thanks to Rembrandt's pictures and moral support, I finally duplicated his setup. I have a small space for reloading available and liked the idea of quick changes for different types of presses. Want to get into metallics next. Got a bittersweet deal on the RCBS Grand...got it new for $350 but at the expense of the local Sportsman's Warehouse that was going out of business. Really glad to finally have a high volume set-up even though the green presses are kind of taboo here in Wisconsin. Mayville (MEC) is just down the road from Green Bay but I couldn't pass up the deal. Read a lot of reviews on the Grand...good and bad. I've only ran a few boxes through but so far so good. Important to take some time reading and adjusting the components. Hope you like the pictures.

My Start

I'm just getting into the hand loading hobby, so have begun the process: many items obtained thus far, Lee Classic Turret and dies are on the way.

Here's my small bench. It will be fitted with shelves along the back, a light and a power strip in the next week or two.

Top is 1.5" (2 layers of 3/4 plywood with five coats of poly now applied). Picture was after one coat.

So, I'm on my way. Pictures later when I'm up and running......... :)

frjeff..............that's a lot better than I begin with........Creeker

LAH,

Thanks. I'm just using up pieces of wood found in the shed. Think all I'll have to buy will be the shelf boards. Just put a coat of primer and one coat of a light yellow latex enamel on the frame members. Not a color I would have picked, but it was here and it is free.

I may check to see if I could buy some pigment to make the yellow a bit more on the brown side.

Bench is 2'x4' and I'll have full 4' shelving across the back. Probably put the bottom shelf up about 18" - 20" so as to allow a light to be mounted a bit above the bench top.

frjeff with the 1 1/2" top the bench will be plenty strong enough. If there's anyway possible fasten if firmly to something solid and it should work just fine............Creeker

Finally finished mine...

Built my bench in the garage with a ammo / powder closet next to it.
The bench is on a couple cabinets picked up from Lowe's and "counter top" is made of 2x6's and 3/4" ply on top and several coats of polyurethane. There is some under cabinet lighting as well (forgot to turn it on for pics).
Used rails to mount my powder measure, single stage and turret presses. The presses are mounted to (2) stacked 1x6s and bolts run through to the rails. The rails are great, so much easier than the clamps I used to use! I can change presses in just a few seconds.
Now if this Florida weather would get out of the 90's I could get some work done!

Thanks to all, I put this together using some of the ideas I saw here. :D

What kind of bolt system is used with that type of rail? Is it like a spring nut with a bolt going into it or something different? I am very familiar with unistrut and all the hardware associated with it but would be to large and goddy for this type of application. I would like to think about retro-fitting my benchtop to accept this channel but am not real familiar with it. Is it durable enough to handle the abuse of the press over a period of time, especially using a lee collet neck die with a lee press?

Nearly Finished ReLoading Bench

Here's the nearly finished reloading bench:

Needs another coat of paint on the back shelving area, light mounting and mount power strip. Still waiting press, dies, powder measure, powder, casings, primers, etc. All I have in components is about 2000 bullets (about half 9mm and half .38SPL/.357).

That's all on back order, so we'll load when it all gets here. At least now I'm pretty nearly ready.

thanks jwl, that got me on the right track (no pun intended). So do you think that aluminum is durable enough with all leverage that will be applied, especially during resizing?

Hey Glenns, this may be a stupid question but what's up with the plastic on the walls???? Nice blond in the swimsuit I must say!
