Yes, it does look like it but I didn't want him feeling insulted if it was a camera - looking for what? I don't know.

I just got around to setting my reloading room back up. I had it boxed up for a couple of years.

This is the cabinet that I keep all the powder and dies, bullets and other odds and ends.

This is the bench that i do my gun cleaning on:

This is the cabinet I store my small supply of hunting clothes:

This bench is going to be my case prep bench.

And this is my reloading bench.

I am just getting back into it so I am sure I will have some questions along the way.

That space use to be a part of my woodshop which has now been sub-divided into 3 rooms. A billard room, a plant and sewing room for the LOML, (she starts her own plants) and the reloading room, or the gun room as my boys call it. The cabinets were all from my old wood shop, with the exception of the reloading bench, and that is a part of an old bar that I tore out of a building I was remodeling, which is somewhat ironic as I don't drink. But the bench is the perfect height for me for reloading. The woodshop was moved out to the garage a couple of years ago.

Hello All,

This is my very "modest" "newby" set up which I'm guessing all you vets out there can tell by my staged product placement.

I've been lurking a while and really enjoying this site.

I have a heck of a lot to learn and I'm gonna enjoy every minute of the process. I'm already learning a lot from you folks so "Thank You All"!

Take care!
Troy

Is there any problems with an all steel reloading bench that you guys can think of. A friend of mine is a steel worker and says he can weld me up one at cost.

New to reloading. Built the bench from my own design... 3/4" plywood cut to 6' then in half and double layered. I put the press on a 2x6 bolted to the bench so that it could be removed easily. IMG_1718.gif

If some of you folks want to send me loaded ammo...i'll gladly take one for the team and start sending my empty cases. I like to load...but i'd rather be shooting! ;)

For those with the Hornady LnL AP Press, what are the dimensions of the base?

Discount Steel is 5 minutes from my house (really convenient and never noticed them before). I can get a 3'6" (wide) x 9" (deep) x 3/16" (thick) piece of aluminum for a little over $31 (after tax and I can drive over and pick it up). I basically want to create a Strong Mount for my LnL AP.

I plan to bend it very similarly to what you see in this thread. My plan is 2" for the "feet", 12" for sides @ 15 degree angle, 10" for the base that the press will be mounted to. I didn't do the math, but 12" sides should get me around 10" of lift.

Is a "base" of 10" x 9" big enough? I believe it is, but need confirmation. Is it overkill?
I don't have the room to build a proper bench as yet (working to get the garage cleaned up enough that I have room in there to build a bench, but that is a project that has already sucked up 3 work days and I'm only 50% done. So for now, I will be mounting the LnL AP to my desk in my home office. I've got room on my desk and it is heavy and stable.
