you know those guns and pictures of guns that you find that have that banana split down the barrel or the muffler bulge right past the stock, or those pictures of revolvers with busted up cylinders and those semi auto pistols that have a nice chunk about the size of a orange slice out of the slide?
i want to see those mishaps and plain stupid pictures of destruction of these guns?
have any you know of? they don't have to be your guns or anything, i just want to see some damage.
so?
post em!

I've seen that one where the barrel is splayed open like in a Bugs Bunny/Elmer FUdd cartoon. If I remember right (one of those email forwards everyone gets) the guy fired it with a laser boresighter still in the end of it or something. I don't think he escaped unscathed either, I'll have to dig through my email and see if I still have it.

My only response after two entries in this thread.

Fireman, if all 3 of those guns are yours, and your a reloader.....you need to stop!

I'm not stopping! A few stitches are worth those extra FPS!!!!

I'm just kidding.... none of those are mine, a simple google image search turned those up.

Would be interesting to read the stories around the failures.

Question is, would any of the stories end with "When I got home and pulled a bullet, it turns out there was 11 grains over in the shell" I think not. I am sure the gun manufacturers took the brunt of the blame.

I have always enjoyed these:

Pretty scary really. Anything else besides load your own causing these? I love my glock but now I'm more nervouse!!!!

Not taking the bore site out of the gun, also keep the barrel out of the dirt.

I would say the majority of the above pistol Kabooms though were reloads. It almost looks like that revolver had a chain fire from the look of the two casings that look blown up. Hard to tell if that was the problem or the result.

SMITTY AND WETTY IIRC, he used a less than adequate charge of an extremely dense powder.

TAURUS JUDGE IIRC, this is a problem common among the judge.

RUGER REDHAWK Ruger lubed the barrel threads on Friday, let the lube dry over the weekend, on Monday assembled the guns, thus over torquing the barrel, weakening the metal.

Marlin 336 with massive damage from gross over-pressure firing. Found in woods. No info on owner or exactly how it happened.

Note receiver is bent and cracked. Hammer blown off along with forearm and mag tube. Bolt frozen.

Underside of barrel showing rupture in shape of cartridge.

This was an M4'gery for 2 (TWO) rounds fired. Newly built HESSE lower lasted 2 shots before the buttstock was in my lap. No warranty either. And, this was not the only Hesse lower to break,
