showing out of state reciprocal permit

Hello,
Has anyone ever had occasion to present an accected out of state or reciprocally accepted CCW while travelling out ofyou state? EG a FLA CCW permit (you are a FLA out of stater) in a FLA accepted state?
How did it go?

I called the PA Secretary of State and was told that PA would honor an FL permit held by a NJ resident, but that my mileage could vary depending on the officer.

NC CCL holder stopped for traffic violation in VA. Because NC requires notification, he thought VA does to (we don't). He notified, and it went downhill from there. Had to go to court. Won.. after a lot of hassle.
Yes, VA does recognize the NC CCL.
The LEOs thought not.
They also thought clad HP ammunition is illegal here. It isn't.

So ... know the law, but be prepared for LEO's not to.

Closely related: Fairfax County VA police (same department involved above) produced a set of safety videos for fire arms. In the videos, they advise legally armed drivers to notify when stopped. They do not mention that it is not required... they lead the viewer to believe it is. Apparently, LEO's want to know, even if it is not legally mandated.

I tend to drive a little fast, so I get pulled over occasionally, and even though in VA it's not required by law to inform the officer, I always do and they are always appreciative. It cannot hurt and it's actually gotten me out of a ticket once.

Sounds like it might be good to have quick access to local laws of the venue you are travelling in with an out of state certificate.

I'm in Florida with a valid CCW.
I go to NC a lot.
My Son n Law got stopped for speeding while I was in the car just outside of Charlotte.
The notify law includes passengering in the car so I told him I had a Fla ccw and was carrying.
He sort of flipped.
Out of the car, over the hood, all the good stuff.
I calmly requested he check with his supervisor.
He did,
Cuffs came off and big apology arrived.
SIL did not get the ticket.

I keep a copy of the Our reciprocal law printed off from the .gov site so I can show an officer if need be. It's hard to argue with the state Attorney General so I just keep the whole thing so they can see where it was printed from. Because of the hassleing reports I will not inform unless I am required to do so or if I am asked.

I was pulled over for speeding a few weeks ago in New Mexico. I mentioned I was carrying and have a Colorado concealed handgun permit. The officer was untroubled. As matters developed, the fine was only $76. If I had to get a speeding ticket, my first in ten years, that was the place to do it.
