Just killing some time at Cabela's in Kalispell with a friend and he was wanting to look at some shorty 9s when I saw this Kimber Micro 9 in the used gun case. It was over when the guy let me put my hands on. Honestly, I don't see a single sign that this gun had ever been fired, just an idiot mark below the slide retainer pin. Price was $439 out the door. The slide is a deep blued steel that looked in all respects perfect. The frame is that brushed aluminum. I got permission to buy it from my wife and it was a done deal. I asked the salesman about a veterans' discount and was informed that that had been discontinued... but he gave it to me anyway. So, $418 out the door along with the original box, Kimber gun rug and Allen holster.
At work today, I took it to the range with a range officer to shake it out a bit. We only put about 6 magazines through it but this gun is an absolute delight to shoot. Just from 7 yards but I after the first mag my group tightened up to a nice cluster. Single handed rapid fire at 3 yards is easily doable.
One thing about the Kimber is it has a 1/2 cock (more like a 1/4 cock) position on the hammer, that still allows you to drop the hammer when the trigger is pulled. So we tested that with a round in the chamber. It doesn't even mark the primer. Other thing I noticed is with the hammer back and the safety engaged the slide can still be pulled back.
I gotta say that I like it more than my XDS and LC9s.
Now a few opinions about carry options and cocked and locked. Would you pocket this in a Desantis style pocket holster ( which is how I carry my XDS), or in a holster without a top strap similar to this: kimber_.jpg :

I've carried a 1911 on duty previously, but my concern is this doesn't have a grip safety. Is that even a concern? Thanks in advance.
Honestly, I gotta stay out of Cabela's.

Nice gun. Personally, I would not carry any 1911 style gun in my pocket. Too much that can go wrong not to mention snagging on clothing. I carried a 1911 for years and I really felt more comfortable with a strap between the frame and the hammer.

Honestly, I gotta stay out of Cabela's.

But if you did that, then you would have missed out on this!

I have a Colt Mustang and SIG P238 which are single action only guns and I really wouldn't want to pocket carry them. As 340PD pointed out just too many things that can go wrong when trying to get it out of your pocket. I carry my .380s in a DeSantis SOF-TUK holster. Very secure, comfortable to wear, and easy to carry concealed.
