My new Sig 220-C3 .45 is having mag problems. 9 times out of ten the last round will not chamber correctly. Already have 200 rounds through it. I purchsd some Magtech Guardian gold ammo and the second bullet will not even load into the mag, the bullet tip rubbes against the mag.

I already took the mags apart, sanded them and lubricated them. Should I keep at it a few more rounds? Is this normal or should I contact sig?

I had a Ruger P90 that would have trouble on the last round with one mag, so I took out the follower and slightly bent it now it works perfectly. The rounds were wanting to lay flat now their upright at the correct angle. You might have gotten old mags with it and might want to try streching the springs a little. As for the guardian ammo I'd try a different brand. Sorry to hear of your woes I'm sure it wasnt a cheap gun.

This problem exists with the Compact and regular P220s and P245. The magazine is shaped for ball ammo and is literally too narrow in the shoulder to fit wider SWC-style ammo unless the overall length of the round is reduced dramatically.

I found this out the hard way, when I took 200 rounds of handloads (topped with Ranier HPs) to the range with an out-of-town guest and found that his P245 wouldn't chamber my handloads due to their shape. My rounds were within spec in terms of length, but they were wider at the front than the Sig magazine would fit.
