Old rail 220ST checkinging in.

My absolute, bar none, favorite autopistol ever. Never malfunctioned, never missed a beat. I use both factory magazine and the Novaks and both function perfectly.

SIG REX as far as I am concerned.

My 220ST and my Custom Colt 1991 are neck and neck as my favorite .45.

My 226ST is bar none my favorite 9mm.

re: agony

Interesting...if I've learned anything from THR, it's that our experiences with any combination of products used will invariably vary from time to time.

Don't know that I can add anything to this continuing testimony to the great 220 other than the fact I've got two of 'em.

I like the ST for pure shootin' but the 220R balances better in my hand. If we could carry legally here, the "R" would get the call.

They look really nice with wood grips, too.

Is the Langdom edition ever going to be submitted for California market? (i.e. "safe list" test)??

Novak follow-up

Tried the Novak's again in my P220ST and they dropped out just fine...maybe there was just a fluke that one day...after not dropping, I had pulled them out of the rotation. Yesterday, they were just a solid as the factory mag's.

Dr. Lunde,

Fantastic pics of your 220ST. Which night sights do you prefer? I particularly am switching out my front sights to night sights and leaving the rear sight stock.

Thanks,

WJR

I prefer SIGLITE night sights. Why? I honestly don't like the white outlines on the other night sight brands. In fact, when I sent my Colt Delta Elite slide to Tooltech a couple weeks ago, for Trijicon night sight installation into its all-black Novak's sights, I chose yellow rear dots and no white outline. In daylight, I ignore white anything and form a bar-notch sight picture.

Interesting. Thanks for the information, you have given me something new to ponder over.

Picked the 220ST up. Didn't have time to shoot it today.

Excellent balance, trigger, and ergonomics.

The recoil spring ways a ton....I have to pull back with three times the muscle more than normal (vs. my other Sigs). Is this common on a 220ST?

Overall, so far I am happy with the purchase. Down the road, I think I'd like to get a 226 ST as well.....

Oh, and I think I have the old assessory rail.

Surefire,

My P220ST has a real tough spring in it also. It is harder to pull back than my other Sigs. I did have my slide Nitron coated by Sig. It looks real cool, almost like a Langdon model. I love my Sig 220St. I did think about selling it awhile back, but have since put that to rest!!!:D

Another observation, the rubber grip is fantastic. I wish that ALL Sigs came with this grip style.

The recoil spring in my 220ST is also stiffer than my other Sigs.

Definitely get a 226ST down the road, they are very nice as well.

Went to the range last night with my 226ST and 220ST and had a great relaxing evening.

WJR

Does the 226 ST also have that nice rubber grip?

I bet when I take my 220ST out and shoot it that it will recoil softly. 40 ounce weight plus very soft grips should make it a pleasure to shoot.
