How about "your guns performance report?

I have a Sig P245 that's only been shot a couple times.Sig discontinued this model a couple years after they started them.At least that's what I've been told. This is my first and only Sig. Has there been any issues concerning the P245?. Sig tells me it was dropped only because it didn't sell as well as they hoped it would. There were no issue with it.After reading this has me wondering if there were actually issues with the P245 leading it to be discontinued.Any comments or information is appreciated.
...

I'd be very interested in hearing how your P245 has performed from day 1 and up until your last range visit with her?

Any FTF's, FTFC, anything that didn't work all the time, or every-time, or once in a while, mainly, your guns story.. jams? how many Total rounds? anything, good or bad.

What type, make, brand, ammo works or didn't work in your gun, etc..?

As you have read, the main problem that seems to be of main focus is an extractor problem, be it design flaw, or otherwise..

We're all ears..

Thanks,

Ls

Lonestar49. To be honest with you I only took it to the range when I first got it and it's been some years back now.I put about 20-25 rounds through it and it shot flawlessly. If I remember correctly I fired Federal Hydra Shok.I originally bought it for a carry gun but with my love handles the external hammer was digging in. I started carrying my little Glock M27 instead.Since that first time out it's been a safe queen.I recently bought a Glock M30 which is still unfired. If it proves to be reliable that will be my new carry gun.I wish I could tell you more about this Sig. I noticed a year or so ago that it wasn't offered anymore so I called Sig and they told me what I posted in my first post.

Ruger Redhawk-
You can rest easy.

The P245s were made with the stamped or folded slides. The P245s do not have any extractor issues or any other problems. They are very reliable, dependable guns.

All of the "Sig P220s suck, I'll never trust this gun again" posts that you've been reading lately are about the the solid milled slide - internal extractor P220s.

While its true that some of these guns are having feeding issues, it's not all of them.

Thanks 1BLINDREF. I don't get to shoot often anymore and don't get around enough to hear about issues with different guns.I feel better after reading your comments. I've never known anyone who had one of these P245's.The little I did shoot it I was impressed with it. I do appreciate your input.I guess Sig was telling me the truth when I called. You confirmed what they said.

I've never known anyone who had one of these P245's.

The P245s were probably one of the least common Sigs.
I had the chance to buy one, but my hands were too big for me to get a good grip on it. I've never read any negatives about them on the Sig Forum or over here on THR.

Here is some more info about the P245:

The SIG P245 variant is chambered only in .45 ACP (hence the name) and was developed primarily for the US market as a civilian's concealed sidearm, or as a police backup weapon. The SIG P245 has a reversible magazine release giving the user the choice of operating it with their left or right thumb.

It normally takes 6 round magazines, but can also accept the 7, 8, or 10 round magazines designed for the P220. A grip extender is available for use with these longer magazines.

The P245 is no longer manufactured by SIG, having been replaced by the P220 Carry and, more recently, the P220 Compact.

Do yourself a favor and put some rounds through her and remember what you were missing!

Thanks again 1BLINDREF for the information. One of these days I'll give it a good workout. It fits my hands well.Who knows once I break it in I might use it as a carry gun once in awhile. It's to nice a gun to leave it in the safe.I do appreciate it.
