SIG 226 Blackwater or Beretta M9 Marine Corps Edition?

I have and like both in the plain-jane versions. Nothing bad to say about either. IMO, you're in a win-win - no wrong answer to be made!

I have one of the original (2007) Blackwater models and it is a great pistol. When I bought it (new) in early 2008, it was a pretty good deal given the 5 mags, nice wood grips and red/green night sights. Mine has about 3000 rounds down it now, without so much as a hiccup.

If I was buying a P226 now primarily or solely for range use, I would be looking for a P226ST (stainless), not the newer elite stainless with the beavertail, but the older style P226ST. www.topgunsupply.com had some, although they are getting harder to find these days (I believe they are still in production in Germany, but fewer places seem to be importing them).

I made my decision...

...and picked up the SIG Blackwater today. Excellent condition, with original box and 4 20 rounders. Met with fellow SIG nut.
