Sig 228 or Kahr pm9 most reliable ?? not sure which one to get any opinions ??

pros and cons appreciated

Thanks

I own both and they are equally reliable.

"Pro's and con's"? Depends on what the intended use is.

It's like asking "Pickup truck or two seater sports car?"

The Kahr will be better for CCW ... a P228 is an excellent "all pupose" piece though.

Also I don't know that I'd say a polymer Kahr is as reliable as a SIG (not that it isn't a very reliable gun, but the P228 has a reputation of being super reliable).

If the P228 is an original West German model, jump on it.

The biggest advantage of the Kahr is that its one of those guns you can carry 24/7/365 and not even know its there.

The P228 would be more reliable IMO. There is a reason it has been in use with US Navy Seals. Also, other Sig models are in use with law enforcement and the coast guard. Heck, the secret service carries a Sig. Is it reliable? If it is trusted by those men and women, I would say yes

Navy seals have never used the P228. They used the P226.

I still agree with your opinion though. LOL The P228 is a more reliable platform but it is more of a do all wonder 9mm where the PM9 is a carry gun.

Actually they have, and it is designated as the M11, though they have, and I believe still do, use the P226 as well

Here you can see the source

And yes, rellascout is correct about the PM9 being more of a dedicated carry gun, whereas the P228 is a jack-of-all-trades. But I would still take the Sig for carry duty :)

"Most" reliable.....?

Both, at their best, are superb. The good ones are, very, very good. If I had to choose, I would say, all things considered, the Sig. Except sometimes, when individual, particular guns are not. But in the aggregate, I would choose the Sig over the Kahr. Especially the older Sigs over some, but not all of the Kahrs.

I own three Sigs and four Kahrs. They are very, very different and have different missions. The Kahr does what it does much better in its little niche than probably any Sig. But you asked about reliability in the abstract.
