SIG 229 Equinox Grips

Hey everyone,

So a buddy of mine just bought a 229 Equinox. Only one problem. The pistol came with a set of Hogue wrap around grips and a set of the plastic 229 grips.

I have been looking around everywhere for a set of the wood laminate two tone grey grips for him. I have not had any luck finding any for a decent price. So does anyone know where I can find a set for a resonable price. He is looking for original equinox grips or as close to original as possible. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

This might be a dumb question, Have you tried contacting Sig? I'd think you'd be able to get a pair from them.

I bought a set on Ebay for $129. They look beautiful...but I had to make a few modifications to the grip. My P220 is an older German model and the backstrap is a bit different than what the grip is intended for. Anyhow..I got it securely installed..and took her to the range. Word of warning. I don't have small hands. Fingers are long..and can cover most grips without issue. With THESE grips..my accuracy dimished. It was lights out with the factory grips on...and unless I was having a bad hair day..the Sig was not accurate at all. Actually..to assure I wasn't having a bad shooting day..I switched over to my Les Baer 45 and the groups were tight..meaning..that it wasn't me just having a bad day. It kind of sucks!! The Equinox grips look GREAT..but they are not worth a darn if I can't handle them!

That implies that you have been able to find some sets.

Perhaps you need to reevaluate your definition of decent and reasonable or your friend needs to reconsider his level of desire

I have a set of new P229 Equinox grips... I planned to offer them for sale, but never got around to it. I will take $100 for them. Let me know. I doubt you will find a better deal anywhere else.
