On the sig gunsight, I believe the sig 232 blue and stainless models are listed as having the same weight or little difference. My local gun salesman says the stainless model is much much heavier, as heavy as a Walther. Anyone know for a fact the difference in weight? Thanks.

Aluminum or Steel frame material

In the Standard Catalog of Firearms it says the Sig P230 (predecessor of the P232) weighed 16.2 ounces with blued (aluminum) frame, and 20.8 ounces with stainless steel frame. I presume the P232 is still available in aluminum or steel frame, resulting in a weight difference of 4-5 ounces for the overall gun.

Walther PPK 21oz
Walther PPK/S 23oz
Sig P232 Aluminum 16.2oz 1.4oz mags
Sig P232 Stainless 20.8oz 1.6oz mags
Bersa 380 19.75oz

Wow, I didn't realize that the Aluminum 232's were really that light. Have to check one out again sometime...

I just wish they'd bring out a 9mm with that same size, look and feel. That would make a heck of a nice CCW gun IWB.

I didn't realize it either. I went in to buy the Stainless model and the dude made the mistake of handing me both to feel. I got so discombobulated after feeling the light wieght of the blued aluminum model I ended up walking out with neither, LOL.

PPK type in 9mm Para would sell like hotcakes
i think the PPK/Bersa/P230 look is unique to blowbacks
a stronger spring and grooved chamber might make it possible though (some makarovs are offered in 9mm Para like this)

HK P9S and Walther P-5 designs come kind of close so maybe roller delayed blowback or locking blocks might be part of a 9mmPara PPK design
