...anything about this. I looked on the Sigarms website and they don't even list it. I was in my local store today when the counter guy shows me this Sig 232. Right next to it is a stainless model and next to that a blue/black finish. But what is this? He didn't know either.

To make a long story short, I bought it because the price seemed very reasonable for a new 232. Now that I'm home this is driving me nuts 'cause I can't find info on it...or even what to call it. :banghead: Not even the manual says anything.

So...any insight would ease my :banghead: and my :cuss: . Well at least I picked up a nice pistol, even if I can't tell what it's called.

I believe it's called the "Rainbow Titanium" and it was a limited edition model. That's why there isn't any info on it. It was made only for a month and it was either June or July of '05. The slide and small parts are multi-colored while the frame is black. You might want to keep that as a safe queen.

Saw one at Quantico Arms in Woodbridge a few months ago. Not my thing but it was certainly interesting looking. What did you pay for it?

My kid found it. Phenom, you were 100% correct. Rainbow titanium, july '05. I bought it to carry, but it is pretty...hmmmmm.

tenbase, I bought it up the street at Shooters Paradise. They were asking $400. Seemed like a good deal for a new P232. Is that a correct assumption? I see 232s going for high $400's and over $500 on auction sites.

Wow, USP9, I think I'm jealous. I've been wanting a 232 for my wife and she is crazy about titanium (it's a hiker thing.) Two questions come to mind:
1) What does your pistol weigh and 2)What are the chances of finding another one out there somewhere?

Don't know about finding another rainbow 232 but here's a rainbow 239 in .40S&W and here's a rainbow 239 in 9mm.

Wow, Alan, too cool, thanks very much. I'm just now seeing how expensive it can be participating in this web-site. ;)

Dang it, I want One!

1) The manual lists the weight at 16.2 oz.

2) ?? Worth looking for though. Place a WTB ad down below.

Titanium is just part of the finish's name. It weighs the same as the Blued P232 with aluminum frame. Very good price on a P232.

Great price for a great gun, but I think some folks at Sig forum have complained that the finish wears off easily. Might want to run a search there.

I don't remember what they're asking for it, but Guns Galore (863) 666-2744 here in Lakeland, FL has one in the case. Not my thing so I didn't look any closer. :)

It was a limited run but they had them up on their website for several months if memory serves me correctly. We are going back about three years with this thread.

The Sig Web site listed the monthly special production amounts. There were about 479 P232 Rainbow Titanium pistols made.
Look here, July 2005,,,

Ever since buying this pistol two years ago, I've come to very much like the P232. In fact I have purchased several more. I found a blued model to be an alternate CCW, and a stainless model with the same Nill grips (a beautiful pistol) and a harder to find .32acp model P230. The Rainbow Titanium pictured above, pretty much rests in my safe. I have had quite a few offers to buy it from me.
