There is a guy up here who is selling a Sig P239 diamond plate edition.
It does look a wee bit odd, but I was wondering if it gives your hand more purchase while running the slide?

Anyone with experience here.....??

I'm with rhinoh and Lucky Derby; some of those special editions that SIG offers on their guns (Diamond Plate, Rainbow, Tribal, etc.), look pretty weird to me and I wouldn't care to own any of them.

Other than it being butt ugly, how do the 239s stack up to the older Sigs?
Too bad those bizarre marks do not do anything functionally, the price is right on the one in question.

I know a guy who actually bought one, but just because he couldn't pass up the price. I guess it wasn't selling... gee, I wonder why.

Anyway, he told me that it actually feels kind of slick rather than the opposite, so I'd say the faux diamond plate doesn't do anything functional. He's keeping his because he says it shoots very well.

Some things I just can't do... but maybe it would look good stored in a diamond plate toolbox in a pickup truck?

Between that diamond plate and tribal nonsense. ...who likes these fashion setups? Are they for women and neck bearders? Serious question. I just do not get why sig makes so many versions of a handful of pistols. Maybe no one there ever heard the term less is more?

I thought a P239 was one of the older Sigs? And they stack up just fine if you ask me. A classic P model like any other (unless we're going to get into the folded steel vs milled slide debate).

I was referring to the all European built Sigs vs the ones like the 239 which have US made parts.

I have owned a couple Sigs before but they were German.
