I can highly recommend the P239.
My experience is much like that of EOD Guy. I have had my P239 for a little less than 9 years now. (Wow! It doesn't seem that long!) I put the Hogue grip on it about 4 or 5 years ago and carry it in an Alessi Talon.
I don't have a huge handgun collection, but the P239 is the only handgun I have that has never, not once, failed to fire, failed to extract, failed to eject, failed to do anything expected of it.
It has been 100.0% reliable, and it has had several thousands of rounds of various brands of ammo including about 70% reloads. I cannot say that for any other handgun I own, including my revolvers (although the revolver malfs were all ammo related). Well, come to think of it, that's no longer true. I just bought a S&W K17 that has been flawless up to this point.
But, it is 43 years old and I'll bet it met some ammo it didn't like in its previous life! But I digress.
The accuracy has been the same as Mainsail just demonstrated. It never fails to amaze me. The DA is so smooth, I have placed a dime on the front sight and dry fired hundreds of times in a row withoout it falling off. Try that with most any other handgun.
If the P239 fits your hand, and that's a big if, it will serve you flawlessly.
