I owned a 19 and a 26 for about a year and become a decent shot with both. The first time i rented a 239 at the range i shot it better than the glocks. So the glocks went and now i'am looking for a 239.

The holster wear isn't necessarily better but different.

The nickle plating does scratch or something to that effect and is noticable close up. It does seem tougher than the nitron finish though. Even when worn or scratched it is still the same silver color. When nitron wears it gets more obvious because the black suddenly has light or silver wear spots.

To be honest it probably is probably about the same wear just a different look to each. I would think the nickle would be more rust proof, but I have never seen an ounce of rust on any of my guns stainless, nickle or blue. About every couple of months they get a CLP bath and I let them sit in it for 15 or 20 minutes. This really seems to work for me because I have yet to see any rust.

Ok so I did sort of wait a day to clean a Mauser after shooting corrosive ammo and I did get a tiny bit of rust on the end of the barrel that cleaned right of but that is it and I have said my Hail Marys, prayed to JMB and bought other guns to make up for my indescretions. :D

One other thing. In my experience with Glocks their finish is about as tough as it gets but you will still get holster wear. The tenifer is a chemical process that for lack of a better word baked into the steel with the black just covering the real protection. So Glocks will get holster wear high spots also.

I do have to say that Glock Tennifer finish and the other firearms that use it seem to be about the most abuse resistent firearms I have ever seen short of an AK-47 and those will still look like crap if you abuse them enough.
