Hey,

So Im thinking about selling my glock and need some opinions. I started off with a G17 and loved it. Recently I received my carry permit and traded my G17 for a mint G26 The problem is I cant conceal it. I'm 5'10 about 155lbs and wear clothes that fit (slimmer cut). Ive tried the desantis intruder(similar to crossbreed), kydex iwb, fobus paddle and currently a galco leather iwb. At 3:00 it looks obviously wider and 4 & 5:00 it prints. Also appendix i cant sit.

So Im thinking about selling it for a LCP that I can comfortably pocket carry. I have a Sig P239 for the night stand and 12 ga for HD so thats covered. Im just having a hard time letting the 26 go. I could just keep the 26 and buy a LCP when funds are available but I dont get to the range often to use the 26 as range gun and dont like the idea of spending money I dont have to. I have a guy who wants to trade me a LCP, 2 mags, nemesis pocket holster and $100 for my 26, 2 mags and kydex owb. Do you guys feel this is a fair trade? and most importantly would you let the 26 go?

Thanks for any input.

It's a Glock, why wouldn't you sell it!

On that note, I'm not sure if the LCP is a good deal for that much, however, if you want to get small pocket pistol the LCP, SW Bodyguard .380 and LC9 are all guns you might want to look at.

Don't sell the Glock!

I like the G27 on my ankle. People will bash but for me I'm sitting down (either office or car) 90% of my day and it works great. Extremely accessible while sitting down and with practice a surprisingly fast draw. I use a fobus ankle holster and had to drill a little on the inside of the holster to get the G27 the exact fit I was after. I love it. Or you can go with crossbreed supertuck.

Ive tried holsters similar to the crossbreed and didnt care for them... after a while they start to make my pants slide down. Also ankle holsters are out due to my chicken legs.

Ive decided I would not be able to carry the g26... so it comes down to keeping it for fun or a SHTF situation. Im definately going to pick up a LCP. I just need to decide whether or not to keep the 26.

Save the baby Glock for colder weather, when it will be easier to conceal. In the meantime, get an LCR and carry it in your front pocket in a pocket holster.

I think you should start dressing more practically to suit your needs instead of playing musical guns to suit your impractical wardobe.

Have you taken any training classes?

Change your clothes. Less retraining involved and a lot more practical.

But if you must sell, remember tighter clothes don't pocket carry very well.

I think i will stick with my current wardrobe instead of dressing baggy like a thug, but thanks for avoiding both questions.

Should I Sell My 26? YES! There's a great big world with lots of great choices out there. Now take a deep breath and go have fun!

im just gonna keep the glock and get a LCP for summer carry. Thanks everyone.

You got 4 posts here. Not good form to be snarky. This is good advice. The G26 is gonna be one of the most concealable packages out there. You needn't dress like a thug. Maybe some sort of trim squared off shirt tail.

I carry a G19 in a Crossbreed and it carrys like a dream. Nobody does well with 3:00. "Printing" is way over-rated as a problem. As long as you're not wearing a tight knit, a decent plaid shirt with a square tail should conceal a G26 at 4:00 like a champ.

Listen and you will learn.

thanks carter... yea I dont wear tight clothes just clothes that fit like they should. bootcut jeans and medium polos. problem is the thick glock handle likes to print through the back of my shirt unless its at 6:00 but there i have a hard time drawing. Lcp was a perfect pocket fit and the lc9 fit great for iwb...im just not crazy about all the safeties in the lc9.

I appreciate all the helpful advice and while you might be able to conceal the 26 its alittle more difficult for my body type. Its the thickness of the glock that i am having issues with. Also i understand a majority of people like to dress around their firearm and thats great for them but i prefer not to wear oversized clothing. I guess im just trying to decide if i should keep the glock that wont get much edc use but, be there if i ever need it or sell it to help speed up the process of a purchasing smaller lcp for edc. Thanks.

Have you looked at the Kel-Tec PF9? It's the intellectual origination of the lc9, and has a simpler manual of arms. I liked mine, it carried really well.

I'm 5'6 125lbs. and carry a G19 using a clipdraw, have you looked into using it? The clipdraw gets the gun lower and no holster to thicken anything up. I do carry small of the back but I am able to draw fairly fast.

Have you tried the appendix position? I find my 26 very concealable in tthe exact wardrobe you mention. Its far more comfortable than I thought it would be. I carry it in a High Noon Mr Softy holster. Smart Carry is an option as well. Also consider the Kahr CM9

Bevans, have you ever observed a US Secret Service Agent or US State Department Diplomatic Security Service Agent, on duty, in a suit? Do they look like baggily clothed thugs to you? They don't to me. Those folks sit, stand, and even run in their suits. They're also carry a medium to large frame service pistol (SIG-Sauer P228 or P229 for DSS), two spare mags, and a set of handcuffs - at a minimum - fully concealed. They have suits sized for carrying their gear while still looking professional. They look like a scrawny pre-teen wearing daddy's suit without the gear. They have traditionally fitted suits for things like court appearances where they aren't carrying their duty gear.

These folks often wear things like simple khakis & polos when doing work where a suit would make them stick out. They buy clothes that fit properly around the gun. In fact, I have a good friend who's almost exactly your size who's a DSS Special Agent. He typically carries his issued P229, or agency approved personal backup that he's qualified with (S&W M&P9c) even off duty. He goes up an inch or two on pant waistband size, and goes from a medium to a large polo. He doesn't look baggy, nor thug like - maybe just a little frat boy like :p . He despises the baggy thug look himself.

Listen to what folks are telling you. Many here on THR have been there done that, and know that clothing, belt, and holster selection will solve problems that switching guns wont. You'll have to experiment a little to find what works for you, but you can keep your current look while still dressing around the gun.

If you can't conceal a Glock 26 I don't think you are doing it right. But, I won't lecture you on that.

I will say that before you resign yourself to a tiny pocket gun and clumsy pocket carry look into a slim 9mm. I highly recommend the kahr CW9 and CM9. They conceal very easily and are still easy to shoot, and of a better caliber than the LCP. The CM9 can even do pocket carry.

I'm 5'9 150. I carry a Glock 26 IWb with a UBG holster no problem. And I'm not thug. Also carry it on the ankle. Doesn't stick out any more than the boots do, and trust me, no one is looking at your ankles.

Also been known to conceal my G17 when I'm going to work, and have to stop by a store before hand. Don't want to leave it in the car. No one has ever noticed that's said anything.

I also have an LCP when I'm going to the gas station in my work out shorts. But it's usually a secondary gun.

If your not going to carry the 26 sell it and get the lcp, glocks are every where and if you decide you want one for range use later, get a 17 or such.

I would ask for a little more on your end in that trade proposal.

How's that for answering directly

To the OP: I'm 5'7" and (due to a relatively recent illness) I'm down to about 135-140 lbs. I carry and conceal a G26 quite easily. While it is a bit thick, it still conceals better than my Commander 1911 (which also conceals VERY well, though it prints when I bend down).

I find that I carry the Glock more often due to the light weight, and I don't have any problems with printing in polo shirts, t-shirts, or dress shirts as long as the shirt isn't too lightweight or too thin.

I thought it would be hard to conceal a pistol as skinny as I am, but once I got a good belt (a polymer core reinforced nylon gunbelt), the problems I had before (unstable draw, floppy holster, etc) all but disappeared, and my concealment got better substantially.

With a proper gunbelt and holster, a 98 lb, 4'11" girl can effectively conceal a full size 1911 wearing jeans and a t-shirt (that fit properly). I know this because I've seen my younger sister do it. (sorry, no pics without her permission)

I sold all of my Glocks and bought me a Ruger LC9. Then found a S&W M 64 2 and 3 inch barrel and got all 3 for under $800.00 dollars at a gun show. I have a FFL.

i believe you're being just a bit stubborn on the clothing issue. there is clothing available of many styles that is "gun friendly" and frankly... your clothing is part of your system of carry. it would behoove you to understand that point.

Thanks for all the replies.

I do title searches for a living so i have to drive around the state to different courthouses to do my research so i obviously cant carry while working. This is one reason why i dont want to dress oversized. While im carrying it would maybe look ok, but as soon as i remove my weapon to enter a courthouse im right back to baggy.

Most of the time im in khakis with a polo and off work im in either jeans or shorts with a polo. I can conceal my Sig P239 no problem its due to it being slimmer. However the glock 17 and the 26 conceal about the same on me due to the thickness. I am ok with appendix carry untill i have to sit down then jabs me and makes for an awkward sitting stance slow standup, however i do like the idea of the clipdraw at 4:30.. might have to check into that. I appreciate all the ideas and will try some but alot i have tried and it just doesnt work for my body type.... i might carry my 155lbs different than you carry your 155lbs. I also cant afford to keep buying holsters. I will admit that i can conceal it and the 17 if i carry mexican style... but I dont feel to confident in that.

Bottom line is I like the 9mm round for sd and love to shoot my glock but at the end of the day id rather have something on me, than sitting at home because i cant properly conceal.

I think you guys have made me decide to sell the glock, get the lcp and start carrying the sig.

Last question I got an offer from someone for $435. Does that sound decent?... I was asking $450 because the glock is mint but got nothing but lowballers throwing out a max of $400

Thanks again

Great choice on the LCP. They are great little guns for when you just don’t want to have to deal with carrying a real gun.
I’m not sure I would sell the Glock just yet, but it sounds like more than a fair price. Actually, around here 400 doesn’t sound too bad.
