Used it maybe once when I first got the 556 and don't remember having any problems. Tried it yesterday in an AR and it would not feed reliably at all. Anybody else have problems with them?

Never even used the one that came with my 556 -- it looks like a rather cheap example of an AR mag, kind of like a bad clone of a Thermold -- and so I always just used my existing AR mags with it.

I've been using my Orlites and Thermolds for manipulation drills. They aren't the greatest mags in the world, but they handle being dropped on the deck well. And, althought I would LIKE them to induce some malfunctions from time to time, they generally don't.

If this is a cheapo version of a pre-Pmag polymer magazine, I'd just use it for training and call it a day. No use sweating over it when you can get a USGI mag for under $20 to replace it, even in this environment.

Know some guys over on the Sig 556 forum that are not fans of the factory mag. I don't even think I have used mine. Bought a few Magpul PMags, and they are great. Excellent construction and I haven't had one feeding problem or heard of anybody complaining about them.

Nothing is 100%. Everything can fail. The question is what percentage will.
