These are from a guy from 1911forum.com. I had a lot of trouble regestering an account over there so I'll just post the pics to save you all the headache.

It's so pretty!

What's the little wart on the side of the slide just below the sights? A lock that immobilizes the firing pin?

I fondled a used one at the Eastman show in Marietta yesterday. Stainless.

$750, used, with factory QC. Must have been a demo or test gun.

I'll wait to see how they are received. If it is anything like their other steel frames it will be awesome.

Ok - I got this pic from the Sigarms site. Obviously stock grips - but apparently two different models. Different finish, hammer, grip panels. What's the deal???

I can't wait to see all the feathers flying about the LOCK>

Just like the Smiths. Blah, Blah, Blah. I wont own one Yada, Yada, Yada....

I think we all have to get used to it.

I don't have any particular beef with a lock, as long as it's done unobtrusively, both mechanically and aesthetically. I was just curious to know if that was a lock, or some bit related to the external extractor... :uhoh:

So does this guy own this 1911 or is this another demo or pre-production pistol. I am just curious to see if any have actually been delivered to customers.

Chris

I think I like it lots, but do they make one without a beavertail? I hope the grip safety/trigger issue mentioned in the previous thread is corrected on production models.

I like the look of that hammer - betcha it's a well-copied item in the aftermarket real soon.

I'm a bit undecided on the profile of the slide, but I like the fact they did something a bit different with it.

What would be really amazing is if they could consistantly maintain the tight tolerances required by the 1911 design.

Make it in a Commander-size and keep the rail (blasphemy I know, but it would look slick to me) and I may have just found the first Sig I would purchase.

As of right now, they don't. The odds that they would hover somewhere around zero. Why do you think they would?

Well, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

John Moses would be blushing by now, a SIG 1911 by gum! :D

Wonder if he'd raise an eyebrow over that goofy external extractor thingie?

I think it looks a lot better in black. Better still when they have models without rails.

JMB probably would have gone to the external extractor by now, but he never would have made a gun that ugly. ;)

We'll have to see whether H&K's 1911 is going to try to "up" Sig on ugly or follow the the classic, "smoother" look of the 1911.

Anyway, it's good to have some quality manufacturers get into the 1911 business...for a change.

I love SIGs and own several of them. I'll probably end up buying a GSR. But I do have one gripe....I really, really dislike the trigger styling on these. It's plain 'ole FUGLY to me. But of course that's easily replaced so I really cant complain. :)
