Sig Gsr 1911

The SIGARMS rep was out at my local dealer/range this week with one of the stainless models. They did some test firing and the range staff had very positive things to say about accuracy and feel. Yes, they are trying to SELL them, but I trust their opinions having shot there weekly for a few years now.

I've been anxiously waiting for this since I saw the announcement from SIG. I own three Kimbers (Goldmatch, Compact STS, and 9mm Target) and three SIGs (P220, P225, P226) and hope that this will be the best of both worlds. (SIG reliability/construction + 1911 manual of arms/feel) I love my Kimbers, but my SIGs have been less problematic.

I'm first on the waiting list for a stainless model. :D

I dunno. That tactical rail, combined with that trigger, and the slide contours, kinda make it look like a pretty ugly 1911.

Still, it's a gun, a good gun at that and guns should be rated on how they shoot, not how they look. Congrats on your purchase!

Update: Heading out to the range with Fed168 today. He is bringing his digital camera so everyone will have pics this evening.

For those who are curious, I paid $889.00 for mine.

Sorta, kinda look like a 1911, but I guess that's to be expected from Europeans building one. Congrats and I hope it shoots good.

I'd get one as soon as they offer it without the rail and without the lock on the slide.

The trigger is kind of ugly IMO, but that can always be changed.

I'm almost ready to buy one of these. I've been thinking about a railed 1911 for some time....and this could be it.

Is it completely interchangeable with standard 1911 parts?

Also, wasn't this made to compete in a military trial for the Det One group?
