SIG Mosquito Feeding Problem

I bought my SIG Mosquito last week and for the most part, I love the gun. I am running into the feeding problem I have seen people complain about. For me, it's about one out of every full mag of 12.

I am bringing this up because I beleive the problem lies in the mag it'self. I noticed that when I loaded it with Winchester ammo, the top round kind of "sinks" down past the end of the mag. When you try to push the round out by hand, the bullet catches on the edge of the mag and will not slide out.

I found that if after I load all 12 rounds, I hold the mag on it's backside, pull the spring down to allow the rounds to "float" and then let the spring go, it caused all of the rounds to self-align themselves. This helped, but still wasn't 100%.

I am still having an occasional problem with the gun ejecting spent rounds, but I think that might simply have to do with the crappy Winchester ammo I am using right now. I tried to buy some CCI's today, but no one had any in stock. So far, it seems like everyone swears by it.

I guess my first question is...12 rounds in the mag? The mag that came with my Mosquito is a 10 rounder, maybe you are overstuffing the mag. Either that, or I have not seen the new 12 round mags. My Mosquito has been a lot of fun, and it's 100% reliable with the "white" spring in it, and shooting CCI Mini-Mags. It's also about 99% reliable with Federal's Bulk Packs, which is what I use most often. Feel free to PM me with any other questions...

Make sure you cleaned the mosquito well and look again for minimags. sig recommends breaking it in for 300 to 500 rounds with minimags. After breaking mine it is has been very reliable and eats most anything, but does like minimags...

As armed 24/7 said, the mags are 10 rounds. It is also a good idea to disassemble the mags and clean them.

First off, if you have a Sig Mosquito, it only has 10 round magazine. Looked at the Sig website at all their Mosquito models and they all have just 10 rounds per magazine. You are either stuffing too many in the magazine, or you don't have a Sig Mosquito.

I made a mistake, it is a 10 round mag. The dealer told me it was 12 and I guess I just never actually counted how many I put in each time.

I just bought the gun last week. Like I stated before, I WOULD shoot CCI's in it, if I could get any. Everyone is sold out.

Not to get argumentative, but I'm not THAT stupid. I know what gun I bought.

I don't have one but shot a buddies right after he purchased. It seemed pretty finicky with ammo. Would only cycle a full mag of certain types of ammo.... can't remember the type we had the best results with as it's been awhile.
