I rented and shot my first Sig ever today. It was the P229 DAK in .40S&W. I was born and bred on Glocks and after years and years of hearing about the legendary Sig line of firearms, I decided to take the dive and at least see what everyone was raving about.
Granted it was a well made gun, however a completely different animal than the Glocks. It seemed that every time I brought the gun up to bear I had to look for the sights, it was like they were sitting on a look-out tower way up there. I had to intentionally find the sight picture, but once on target it shot accurately albeit to the right slightly.
I am not a fan of long double action trigger pulls except for DAO revolvers and only then because of ease and simplicity of use for those that aren't as gun-savvy.
Overall it was a satisfying shoot and I was actually surprised at how much smoother the recoil seemed with it in .40 than my G23.
