I picked up a Sig P229 Stainless Elite last week and had an opportunity to shoot it today. Reliability was flawless and accuracy was excellent. The gun is so good it even has me thinking about letting go of my Glocks. Honestly the gun has exceeded my expectations on every level - fit, finish, and function. I have owned other Sigs but there seems to be a level of detail and refinement on the Elite that was missing in the others. I have heard that Sig Quality has been down recently but I'm not seeing it with this example.

Here's a picture of the Elite next to my Wilson Combat X-Tac. I would be hard pressed to tell you which one I enjoy shooting more, amazing the SIG is that good.

Any Sig fans out there?

Beautiful gun. I have the P220 45 elite. It is the first gun by friends want to pick up and hold when I open the safe. I'm sure you'll enjoy it

I went with a SIG P229R DAK for duty and much carry in 2004, and divested myself of several .40 Glocks. (The G22 and P229 are two of the several authorized .40 duty pistols at my PD job.) I got a better fit in my hands, and better accuracy, by switching.

To be clear, I do not hate Glocks, and recently purchased a G17.

There are some glocks I will keep. One is a 17 fitted with a Wilson barrel. Glocks work too.

I am partial to stainless and a fan of Sig Arms so I applaud you on your purchase. Now, go out and buy some mags....quick!
